What guidelines should be used for data entry on the SCOMIS Sentence screen for consistent processing of criminal history records by the WSP?

As long as the Process Control Number (PCN) information has been entered on a case, data from the sentence screen is transmitted to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) and becomes part of a defendant's criminal history.  Entries should be brief.  NO VICTIM INFORMATION or other confidential information should be entered.

The WSP has a set of preferred abbreviations and entry formats to ensure uniformity of the criminal history information.  These abbreviations and formats are described in the document attached at the bottom of this answer.
