How do I calculate the Base Penalty for a Traffic or Non-Traffic Infraction (Case Types IT and IN), if I know the Total Penalty?


Use the Excel spreadsheet attached at the bottom of this answer to calculate the base penalty. The spreadsheet uses a formula to calculate the base penalty from amounts you enter. 


Three tabs are included in the spreadsheet based on date of infraction:

  • On or after July 28, 2019
  • Between July 1, 2015 and July 27, 2019
  • Between July 22, 2007 and June 30, 2015
  • Between April 30, 2007 and July 21, 2007
