What is the correct format for eTicket case numbers in 2010 and beyond?

In the past, eTicket case numbers began with the last digit of the calendar year (i.e., 7Y for 2007, 8Y for 2008, etc). JIS does not accept zero as the first digit of a case number, so this pattern will not work from 2010 forward.

The new pattern will use the Roman Numeral X to represent the year 2010. Beginning on January 1, 2010, an eTicket entered with the SECTOR program will be created with the XY formatted numbers (i.e., XY0000001 is the first case number assigned in 2010).

To prevent duplicate case numbers in succeeding years, the X will be replaced with the last digit of the year, and the Y will be replaced by the letter Z.  This pattern will cover the years through 2020. (i.e., 1Z0000001 is the first case number assigned in 2011 and XZ0000001 is the first case number assigned in 2020).

Every ten years the second character in the case number will advance to the next letter of the alphabet and cycle back to the beginning after Z. The letter X will continue to be used as the first character of those case numbers in years ending with a zero.   Here is an example of a decade of case numbers beginning with 2010.

1ZNNNNNNN = 2011      1ANNNNNNN = 2021      1BNNNNNNN = 2031

2ZNNNNNNN = 2012      2ANNNNNNN = 2022      2BNNNNNNN = 2032

3ZNNNNNNN = 2013      3ANNNNNNN = 2023      3BNNNNNNN = 2033

4ZNNNNNNN = 2014      4ANNNNNNN = 2024      4BNNNNNNN = 2034

5ZNNNNNNN = 2015      5ANNNNNNN = 2025      5BNNNNNNN = 2035

6ZNNNNNNN = 2016      6ANNNNNNN = 2026      6BNNNNNNN = 2036

7ZNNNNNNN = 2017      7ANNNNNNN = 2027      7BNNNNNNN = 2037

8ZNNNNNNN = 2018      8ANNNNNNN = 2028      8BNNNNNNN = 2038

9ZNNNNNNN = 2019      9ANNNNNNN = 2029      9BNNNNNNN = 2039

XZNNNNNNN = 2020      XANNNNNNN = 2030     XBNNNNNNN = 2040
