Which BARS codes need County Department Cross Reference Codes (DCXT) entries for new laws effective 7/1/2009?
New BARS codes were added to implement some of the 2009 legislation.
Please complete the DCXT screen for the new BARS codes for your court level, shown in the tables below, before the BARS codes effective dates. Do not attempt to use this answer to complete the updates as it does not include the sub-accounts that need entered on the DCXT screen. The DCXT worksheet for your court level should be used to update the DCXT screen. Links to the DCXT worksheets are provided below.

FOR BOTH SUPERIOR COURTS AND COURTS OF LIMITED JURISDICTION:
| Note for both court levels regarding SB5073 - Consolidating Funds into the State General Fund: This legislation discontinues a number of state specialized funds and directs all amounts that are currently being paid into these funds are to be paid into the State General Fund. All funds currently paid into PSEA 1, PSEA 2 (Public Safety and Education accounts) and the Equal Justice Account must be paid into the State General Fund. This affects all payments to the courts after July 1, 2009, even payments on accounts receivable that were created before July 1, 2009. The Description was changed on each of these BARS Codes as indicated: 386.91.00 STATE GENERAL FUND SUBACCT 40 386.92.00 STATE GENERAL FUND SUBACCT 50 386.88.00 STATE GENERAL FUND SUBACCT 54 Courts can change their DCXT tables to use the same local code for all three accounts or they can instruct their treasurers to redirect the funds from the original accounts to a remittance to the state general fund. |
