How do I enter charges in SCOMIS when the charges are amended per a jury verdict and I do not have amended information?
The Washington State Patrol (WSP) receives dispositions electronically from the courts when entries in SCOMIS are completed by the court. In the following entry (see sample screen below), the WSP received only the Count 3 Unlawful Imprisonment charge because it is the only charge entered after the dashes (--------).
Since the jury convicted the defendant of a lesser included charge for Count 2 and there was no amended information filed by the prosecuting attorney, the following entry (see sample screen below) should be made on the SCOMIS Charge screen:
