The JCS Direct Printer Queue window is not opening. Do I need to change a setting?

This problem has been identified when the following options are selected when direct printing a JCS report:

  • Schedule = Now.
  • Send directly to Printer.
  • Notification = None.

After submitting such a report, a second browser window entitled Direct Printer Queue should appear behind the main JCS window. If this window does not appear, follow the steps below to fix the problem:

  1. Uninstall the Google Toolbar:
Unless you are very familiar with the controls of third-party Internet tools with search bars and pop-up and/or cookie blockers (such as Google, Yahoo, etc.), uninstall them. These procedures pertain to Microsoft Internet Explorer, Version 6.0.29 only. If your version of Internet Explorer is not 6.0.29, you should contact your IT department to consider the update.
  2. Click the Tools menu from an Internet Explorer (Version 6.0.29) browser window.
    • Select Internet Options, click the Security tab, click the Trusted Sites green circle icon, and then click the Sites button.
    • In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type: *.courts.wa.gov
Be sure to include the asterisk and period at the beginning.
    • Click Add.
    • UNcheck the box for Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
    • Click OK once, then continue to Step 3 below.
  3. While still displaying the Internet Options dialog box, click the Privacy tab.
    • Click the Advanced button at the bottom of the Settings area in the center of the dialog box.
    • CHECK the box for Override automatic cookie handling.
    • Under the First-party Cookies heading, select the radio button for Accept.
    • Under the Third-party Cookies heading, select the radio button for Prompt.
    • CHECK the box for Always allow session cookies.
    • Click OK.
  4. This returns you to the Privacy tab of the Internet Options dialog box.
    • CHECK the Block pop-ups box at the bottom of the dialog box.
    • Click the Settings button next to this box.  The button becomes active as soon as you place a check in the Block pop-ups box.
    • In the box for Address of Web site to allow, type:Â  *.courts.wa.gov
Be sure to include the asterisk and period at the beginning.
    • Click Add. Â  This will place the address you typed into the window labeled Allowed sites.
    • At the bottom of the dialog box, use the drop-down arrow to select a Filter Level of Medium: Block most automatic pop-ups.
    • Click Close.
    • Click OK.
    • Click Apply, then click OK.
