Why can't I change a case number on the NCC screen? The field is protected.
If an outstanding FTA (Failure to Appear) exists on a case, the case number field is protected on the Case Filing/Inquiry/Update (NCC) screen.
Please refer to the Troubleshooting Case Filing Update Restrictions topic in the online manual for procedures on correcting a case number when an FTA has been issued.
Note: If the FTA was adjudicated today, the adjudication process is completed overnight. You will need to wait until tomorrow to change the case number because the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) must have the correct case number to process the adjudication.
