How do I know if a certified court interpreter has been decertified?
When a certified court interpreter is decertified, an e-mail notification is sent to all court managers and the decertified interpreter's name is removed from the Certified Court Interpreters page of the Washington Courts Web site.
A court interpreter may be decertified by decision of the Disciplinary Subcommittee of the Court Interpreter Certification Advisory Commission. The Disciplinary Subcommittee is a group of three-to-five commission members who review situations when an interpreter is accused of doing something wrong, unethical, or is out of compliance with continuing education requirements.
