What is the Child Study and Treatment Center (CSTC)?
The Child Study and Treatment Center (CSTC), located in Lakewood (near Tacoma), Washington, is the state psychiatric hospital for children. CSTC is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is designed and staffed for the treatment of children from 6-17 years of age who cannot be served in less restrictive settings within the community. The CSTC is operated under the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Health and Rehabilitation Services Administration, Mental Health Division.
