How do I get help with legal advice or research?  Is there a Web site where I can get information?

The Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is responsible for providing administrative support to courts throughout the state of Washington and for maintaining the Washington State Courts Web site located at http://www.courts.wa.gov, but does not provide legal advice.

However, there are several Web sites that can offer assistance:

For help with research, please visit the Washington State Law Library's Web site.  At this site, you will find links for beginning your legal research and contact information for requesting research assistance.

For legal advice, additional resources are available from the following Web sites:

  • CLEAR (Coordinated Legal Education Advice and Referral service).
CLEAR is Northwest Justice Project's toll-free telephone service for eligible low-income people to obtain free legal assistance with civil legal problems. Clients in need of interpreter services in order to access legal services through NJP are entitled to those services.
  • Columbia Legal Services (CLS)
